BURNING BOUNDARIES (PART 1) - LIVE TRAINER / HELPER

A fan-made helper that runs alongside the game and shows you, in your

browser:

* A live HUD - the game's stats and flags updating as you play, so

you can see exactly what each choice changes.

* A FULL DECISION TREE - every choice in the game with its effects,

so you can plan a route or check what you'd miss.

It is READ-ONLY. The helper only reads the game's state and writes one

small text file next to the game. It does NOT edit the game, touch your

saves, or connect to anything online. Delete it and the game is exactly

as it was.

WHAT YOU NEED

* Windows

* The game "Burning Boundaries Part 1" (this trainer is built for the

current release - if the dev updates the script later, some choices

or line numbers may shift)

* Python 3 - free, one-time install from https://python.org

IMPORTANT: during install tick "Add python.exe to PATH".

(The helper is a tiny Python web server. No Python = no helper,

but the game still plays fine on its own.)

INSTALL

1. Find your Burning Boundaries folder - the one that contains

BurningBoundaries.exe.

(Steam: right-click the game > Manage > Browse local files.)

2. Extract EVERYTHING from this zip into that folder, keeping the

structure. When it's done you should have, next to

BurningBoundaries.exe:

Run With Helper.cmd

bb1_live_helper.py

bb1_hud.html

burning_boundaries_decision_tree.html

bb1_hud_data.json

Game_Helper.html

game\bb1_helper.rpy <-- this one goes in game\

If your unzipper made a subfolder, move the contents up so

"Run With Helper.cmd" sits right next to BurningBoundaries.exe.

Say yes if asked to merge the "game" folder.

RUN

Double-click >> Run With Helper.cmd << (NOT BurningBoundaries.exe)

It will:

- start the helper,

- open the HUD in your browser at http://localhost:8777/hud ,

- launch the game.

Play normally. The browser HUD updates on its own as you go.

(Game_Helper.html is just a shortcut that redirects to the helper -

handy to bookmark.)

Keep the little black helper window open while you play (you can

minimise it). Close it when you're done.

UNINSTALL

Delete these from the game folder:

Run With Helper.cmd, bb1_live_helper.py, bb1_hud.html,

burning_boundaries_decision_tree.html, bb1_hud_data.json,

Game_Helper.html,

game\bb1_helper.rpy (and bb1_helper.rpyc if present)

plus the small file it generates while running:

game\saves\bb1_live_state.json

TROUBLESHOOTING

"Python 3 was not found"

Install it from https://python.org and tick "Add python.exe to

PATH", then run the .cmd again.

HUD says "waiting for game..." and never fills in

Make sure you launched via Run With Helper.cmd, not the exe.

Give it a few seconds after your first choice/scene.

Browser says "can't connect" / page is blank

The helper window probably isn't running - double-click the .cmd

again. Only run one copy at a time.

Windows SmartScreen / antivirus warns about the .cmd

It's a plain-text batch file - open it in Notepad and read it if you

like. Allow it to run.
