BRIGHTLORD - LIVE TRAINER / HELPER
===============================================================
A fan-made helper that runs alongside the game and shows you, in your
browser:
* A live HUD - every stat (Corruption, Love, and each girl's meter)
updating as you play, plus what each choice just changed.
* A DECISION PANEL - when the game asks you to choose, it shows each
option and what it actually does BEFORE you pick: the points it
gives, and in plain English what it unlocks or costs you.
* A FULL CHOICE TREE - every decision in all 16 episodes, with its
effects and consequences, searchable, with a "only choices that
matter later" filter.
It is READ-ONLY. The helper only reads the game's state and writes a
couple of small text files next to the game. It does NOT edit the game,
touch your saves, or connect to anything online. Delete it and the game
is exactly as it was.
---------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT YOU NEED
---------------------------------------------------------------
* Windows
* The game "BrightLord" (this trainer is built for the current
release - if the dev updates the script later, some choices or
line numbers may shift)
* Python 3 - free, one-time install from https://python.org
IMPORTANT: during install tick "Add python.exe to PATH".
(The helper is a tiny Python web server. No Python = no helper,
but the game still plays fine on its own.)
---------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALL
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. Find your BrightLord folder - the one that contains BrightLord.exe.
(Steam: right-click the game > Manage > Browse local files.)
2. Extract EVERYTHING from this zip into that folder, keeping the
structure. When it's done you should have, next to BrightLord.exe:
Run BrightLord Helper.cmd
brightlord_live_helper.py
brightlord_hud.html
brightlord_tree.html
bl_menus_refs.json
bl_consequences.json
game\brightlord_helper.rpy <-- this one goes in game\
If your unzipper made a subfolder, move the contents up so
"Run BrightLord Helper.cmd" sits right next to BrightLord.exe.
Say yes if asked to merge the "game" folder.
---------------------------------------------------------------
RUN
---------------------------------------------------------------
Double-click >> Run BrightLord Helper.cmd << (NOT BrightLord.exe)
It will:
- start the helper,
- open the HUD in your browser at http://localhost:8778/hud ,
- launch the game.
Play normally. The browser HUD updates on its own as you go. Use the
links at the top of the HUD to jump to the full Choice Tree and back.
Live HUD + decision panel: http://localhost:8778/hud
Full choice tree: http://localhost:8778/tree
Keep the little black helper window open while you play (you can
minimise it). Close it when you're done.
---------------------------------------------------------------
UNINSTALL
---------------------------------------------------------------
Delete these from the game folder:
Run BrightLord Helper.cmd, brightlord_live_helper.py,
brightlord_hud.html, brightlord_tree.html, bl_menus_refs.json,
bl_consequences.json,
game\brightlord_helper.rpy (and brightlord_helper.rpyc if present)
plus the small files it generates while running:
game\brightlord_live_state.json, game\brightlord_pending.json,
game\brightlord_playlog.jsonl
---------------------------------------------------------------
TROUBLESHOOTING
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Python 3 was not found"
Install it from https://python.org and tick "Add python.exe to
PATH", then run the .cmd again.
HUD says "waiting for game..." and never fills in
Make sure you launched via Run BrightLord Helper.cmd, not the exe.
Give it a few seconds after your first choice/scene.
Browser says "can't connect" / page is blank
The helper window probably isn't running - double-click the .cmd
again. Only run one copy at a time.
Windows SmartScreen / antivirus warns about the .cmd
It's a plain-text batch file - open it in Notepad and read it if you
like. Allow it to run.
The decision panel shows the wrong thing / says "couldn't map"
The data is built for a specific game version. If the dev patched
the script, some lines will have moved. Everything the panel can't
confidently match it flags rather than guessing.
